For a distinct look, consider these wedding flower trends, bright colours that burst with individuality, pastel dreams and bold designs, wedding florist Todich Floral Design, will mix and match the flowers, colours, textures and shapes to capture the distinct personalities of each couple. The brighter the better; sunshine yellows, tangerine, coral, hot pinks, fuchsia and radiant red make your event pop.

As winter wears and summer begins to bloom, consider these summer wedding flower ideas a combination of popular wedding flower trends 2015. Bridal florist Todich Floral Design recommends incorporating these summer wedding flower trends, creamy pastels and vivid, bright summer colours, that are more popular this year.

Bright yellow roses, tulips and calla lilies make spectacular summer bouquets and centrepieces. Vintage inspired and purely romantic, roses are a popular choice and symbolic of love, look great by its self or when paired with vivid colours. Combine with delicate orchids and classic white roses for a softer look, or add blue tulips for an even bolder look.

Hydrangeas, beautiful clusters of small delicate flowers, are in season from spring, a symbol of friendship, they add a vintage flair, making them magnificent centre pieces or add edge to beautiful bouquets.

Pretty pastels. Pastels are all the rage at this time of year, subtle soft shades, especially open flowers are quintessential, for adding romance, enchantment and a country garden feel to bridal wedding bouquets.  Part of a dominant trend this summer, pastel’s soft, creamy shades are perfectly romantic. For elegant, dreamy pastel arrangements, reach for peonies or roses, in sumptuous creamy shades of peach, lemon, pink or coral.

Subtle, soft, classic white roses, adorn flower baskets, and accent wedding ring pillows beautifully. Vintage wedding bouquets and table decorations, look best with a modern twist. Roses, hydrangeas in white, ivory, pale pinks and pale green stems, make exquisite bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, and magnificent centrepieces, adding romance, elegance and femininity.

Colour celebration. For a colour explosion, use red roses, purple and orange tulips, coral peonies, carnations and hot pink roses. Vivid shades are on trend for spring and summer months, they make bold staments and add a vibrancy and richness to wedding flower arrangements. Whether its to create grand centrepieces, bridal bouquets, crousages or to add the finishing touches to your wedding cake, bold shades of roses, hydranges, tulips, carnations, gerbera, peoneis and rananunculus, make spectacular wedding flower arrangements.

For a colour explosion, use red, purple roses, and orange tulips, coral peonies, carnations and hot pink roses. Vivid shades are on trend for spring and summer months, they make bold statements and add a vibrancy and richness to wedding flower arrangements. Whether it’s to create grand centrepieces, bridal bouquets, corsages or to add the finishing touches to your wedding cake, bold shades of roses, hydrangeas, tulips, carnations, Gerbera, peonies and ranunculus, make spectacular wedding flower arrangements.

Buttonholes. In the past buttonholes signified good luck and divine love particular red ones, which represented the masculine symbol of love, and when worn by grooms at weddings signified that they were bound to be married. Made up of a single flower and foliage, the same variety of flowers worn by the bride, popular flowers tend me be carnations or roses, but can be beautifully arranged using your favourite wedding flowers.

Tropical bold designs, blazing orange and energetic greens burst with individuality, geometric floral designs such as birds of paradise, serve as unique buttonholes that men can wear.

Hanging centrepieces. When it comes to decorating wedding receptions, the sky’s the limit. If you’re after bold, elegant statements, something a little different, why not try hanging blooms? Just as beautiful, an increasing trend has been floral chandeliers. Hanging wooden beams look beautifully decorated with a range of full bloom and lashings of contrasting forest green foliage. Roses are the perfect choice for this, and add sophistication and romantic to bouquets, summer wedding flower centrepieces and decorate receptions beautifully.

If you’re having an outdoor wedding, for an ultra whimsical affair, look for grand statement trees and adorn with jam jars, tea lights and hanging blooms, made up of creamy pastel shades, or single shade flowers, such as white or yellow. Alternatively decorate wedding receptions spaces with hanging flower balls using satin or silk ribbons, for the extra wow factor, add crystals for a shimmer under lighting. Flower balls also work great as table centrepieces or for your flower girl.

Design ideas for rustic weddings

When you think of ‘rustic’ the first things that come to mind may be a remote log cabin or a barn on a farm, but you don’t have to be getting married in the middle of nowhere to go with this wedding theme. Reflecting a growing desire among people to reconnect with nature and towards more natural styled wedding flowers, many brides are now choosing a rustic wedding flowers theme. Nature is a great resource for decorating ideas and can also allow the wedding to include some of the groom’s tastes too.

Going ‘rustic’ doesn’t have to mean checkered tablecloths and lots of wood. Containers such as ceramic or metal milk churns and jugs can be incorporated in wedding reception arrangements, plus plant pots, crates, jars and items such as weathered old furniture, lanterns, suitcases, ladders, watering cans, wheelbarrows or bicycles. Lights, bunting, streamers, tissue paper pom poms and balloons suspended from ceilings also help create a rustic feel. The great thing is, this type of decoration can be as simple or elegant as you want it to be.

The deciding factor of any wedding scheme is usually the location, but rustic weddings needn’t be confined to rustic wedding venues such as barns, as rustic wedding decorations can provide a lovely contrast in modern venues such as warehouses, large halls, galleries or hotels. And if you’re getting married outside, or somewhere with lovely grounds, it’s a natural fit for your bridal flowers.

The key to a rustic wedding is making sure that everything looks natural. The wedding bouquets should be less structured, and a little asymmetrical, as if you could have just picked them from a garden or meadow and put them together yourself. Wild, garden-style flowers and foliage are usually used, but elegant flowers such as roses, peonies and lilies can still find their place in a rustic setting.

As a wedding florist, things we love in terms of rustic wedding flowers ideas include watering cans, milk churns and even wellies used as containers to put the flowers in. And a battered old wheelbarrow brimming full of wild flowers makes a wonderful and unusual entrance display. For a spring wedding, plush bouquets of chrysanthemums and daisies can make a lovely seasonal alternative to the traditional rose.

Muted colours and tones usually work best for rustic weddings, although pops of colour can be added to give interest and contrast. Pink is seeing a comeback in the form of soft, blush tones, and although a wedding all in pink and white might seem too girly, this pretty colour creates a really warm, natural and romantic look. For an outdoor, garden wedding a mixture of cream and light pink roses look lovely on tables glowing with candles, and combined with wooden furniture will create a very relaxed atmosphere.

To give the feeling that your wedding flowers have been picked from an abundant field and to really reflect the variety in nature, you might consider combining sweetly scented white freesia with various tones of pink flowers and lots of soft, wispy foliage such as ferns. Add in a few branches and accents of wood and you have a gorgeously romantic rustic theme.

Cascading bouquets and flower garlands are a great way to achieve this and are very popular for rustic weddings. Delicate flowers can be woven in to garlands of foliage such as ivy, ruscus, ferns and pine and strewn across tables, woven up posts or banisters and draped across doorways or freestanding arches to give a feeling of abundance and bringing the outdoors in.

rustic wedding flowers, bridal flowers and bridal bouquetsMoss and twigs are also great for creating a natural, outdoorsy look and look lovely incorporated in to wedding table floral designs.

For lighting, a great suggestion is to use antique lanterns and do not hesitate to decorate the lanterns with flowers as well, as part of the wedding will happen during the day while the lanterns are not lit. Twinkling fairy lights are lovely too and look incredibly romantic when strung outwards from a central point.

Summer wedding flowers in season

Summer brings with it lots of beautiful, delicate flowers in dreamily soft, feminine pastel hues; ideal for brides that want an English country garden or vintage wedding theme. Below is a list to help you plan your summer wedding flowers.

Flowers available for summer bridal bouquets, flower arrangements, wedding buttonholes and corsages include: Aster (daisy-like flowers on upright stems), Alchemilla (a common garden flower with tiny yellow and green flowers), Carnations (long lasting and can be used on their own, in pomanders), Cornflower (a strikingly beautiful blue flower), Chrysanthemums (bigger flowers, with large petals), Dahlias (dramatic-looking flowers with a round shape), Delphinium (tall flowers), Gypsophila (very small white flowers), Hydrangea (a flower with an enormous head and often used for purple summer wedding flowers), Lavendar (a lilac flower with a fabulous aroma), Nerine (clusters of delicate flowers), Nigella (gentle, papery flowers; also referred to as ‘love in the mist’), Peonies (big, soft, papery  flowers), Phlox (a favourite country garden flower), Roses (a classic flower available all year round and in numerous colours), Sweet Peas (short-lived flowers with beautiful colours and a gorgeous fragrance), and Zinnias (similar to Dahlias).

A simple image search online will show you what these seasonal wedding flowers look like and provide plenty of inspiration for different styles of wedding bouquets and wedding reception flowers. If you’re having bridesmaids at your wedding, you will probably want flowers for them too. Traditionally, bridesmaid bouquets are similar to the bride’s bouquet, in slightly smaller versions. However, they don’t necessarily need to be the same shape.

You can pick and choose from a number of different shapes for your summer wedding bouquet including the classical, neat, round posy bouquet, a cascading or teardrop bouquet, an oval bouquet, a heart-shaped flower bouquet, a loose, natural hand-tied, or for younger bridesmaids, pomanders, baskets, wands or mini hand-tied designs. Pretty, loose petals also make a lovely addition to summer weddings, and can be provided in baskets for younger bridesmaids to scatter down the aisle as they walk.

Table Arrangements 0552Popular flowers for summer weddings

Roses, dahlias, hydrangea and peonies are particularly popular for summer wedding bouquets. These full, blowsy flowers all make excellent leading ladies in summer wedding flowers and arrangements. Smaller, delicate flowers like aster, lisianthus, cornflower, nigella and phlox make lovely additions, as do sweetly scented freesia and sweet peas. Gypsophila, or baby’s breath, which features tiny clusters of pin-sized white flowers has also seen something of a resurgence and is often now used alone to create romantic, white wispy clouds of flowers. Carnations and chrysanthemums also often get a bad press, but they come in a huge choice of colours and shapes, some really pretty varieties and make great, cost-effective secondary flowers to help fill out designs. A good florist will discuss wedding flowers prices with you and help you make the most of your budget, so be sure to provide an indication of this when you start discussing ideas.

A Summer Wedding by Todich Floral Design

Tuesday, August 27th, 2013

London florist Todich Floral Design had the pleasure of designing beautiful bridal flowers for a London summer wedding this weekend. The new bride contacted our consultants as she wished for our floristry team to provide the flowers for her special day.

1The bride and groom were getting married at The Thistle Hotel, Hyde Park which was a spectacular venue that caters for many London weddings. The happy couple wished for a country summer theme to be incorporated into her flowers designs.

The bridal bouquet was a loose hand-tied posy made up entirely of large daisy heads and craspedia. The wedding bouquet was designed to look like wild country flowers that had been hand-picked from an English meadow. The flowers were designed to match the theme of an English country garden and were finished with a sparkling gold ribbon.

4We created three bridesmaids bouquets entirely with small daisy tanacetum flowers which were tied loosely with gold ribbon and pearl pins. The flower colours matched the bridesmaids light yellow dresses and were very much in trend with today’s floral fashions.

The groom’s boutonniere incorporated the wedding flowers design and included a large daisy flower which was tied with string and gold pearl pins.

The floristry team were very happy with the results and the bride and groom were thrilled too.

Todich Floral Design creates flower displays for all aspects of the wedding; from intricate flower buttonholes to large reception pedestal flowers the talented florists skilfully decorate venues with stylish flower designs. The London florist offer a same-day delivery service to all London weddings, If you would like to speak to one of our consultant about a UK Wedding then give us a call on 02077371166
