Fresh ideas for wedding flowers themes

Tuesday, February 18th, 2014

At Todich Floral Design we love keeping up to date with what’s popular in the wedding industry and with new wedding flowers trends. Of course there will always be some themes, such as all white and feminine, pastel hues that are timeless and that we’ll continue to see year after year. But the great thing about weddings is that each bride can create her own unique twist and make it her own.

As a London wedding florist, Todich Floral Design gets to meet lots of unique people from different backgrounds, so no two weddings are ever them same, which makes what we do really exciting. We are always coming up with new ideas, but equally we often get ideas from our brides too, so here we would like to share with you some fresh and fabulous wedding flowers ideas.

‘Pure & Simple’
If you are a fan of clean, straight lines as well as the colour white with just a pop of colour, then ‘pure and simple’ is most likely a theme you will love. Envision wedding reception flowers featuring luscious white cymbidium orchids overflowing from a decadent silver vase with a touch of yellow ranunculus and craspedia for the pop of colour, along with some pussy willow sticking up a bit taller at the top. This creates a crisp and utterly stunning design.

‘Modern Vintage’
Vintage wedding flowers are enduringly popular, but modern takes on this should be more about pretty details and less chintz. Designs and colours are romantic, feminine and delicate. Imagine the colours to be ivory, pale pinks and light green. A vintage bridal bouquet would be filled with immaculate ivory and pink garden roses with a touch of Queen Anne’s lace and ivory and light green lisianthus draping from it along with dusty miller. If old school elegance and feminity is what you are after, then this is just the theme for you.

‘Garden Chic’
This is a really fun bridal flowers idea, because it incorporates lots of colours which can be based on the bride’s personal style and taste. Imagine walking through a garden and picking wildflowers; this is the exact feeling you want to create with garden chic themed bridal flowers. The garden chic wedding is fun, with bright with pinks, yellows, purples, and greens. Visualise mason jars filled with sunflowers, daisies, sweet peas, corn flowers, anemones, irises with alchemilla mollis everywhere. It is a whimsical mix of flowers that will bring a lovely fairytale feeling to your day.

‘Blushing Bride’
This theme is for the complete ‘girly-girls’ out there who just love pink. Picture a full, round bridal bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets with heaps of luscious pastel pink peonies and snowberries, plus subtle pops of darker pink roses, astilbe or waxflower to add some extra texture, drama and shape. Add fairylights, crystals and candles in to the wedding reception décor, and this pink paradise really comes to life.

‘Spring Green’
This wedding flowers theme is for all the nature lovers out there, with succulents, yellow tulips and green hydrangea it’s the perfect style for spring. You could also throw in some white flowers for the bridal bouquet. This would be ideal for an outdoor spring or summer wedding, or where the venue is airy and light. With clear vases on each table filled with floating candles…it can be any brides spring dream come true.

There is literally an endless list of themes that can be discussed and created, and Todich Floral Design wedding and events florist in London specialises in working individually with each bride to realise the dream flowers for her wedding day.
