Hindu weddings feature various traditions and customs that have to be completed before the wedding can take place...
On the morning of a Hindu wedding there is a ring ceremony and a gift exchange. This is the actual engagement. Gifts are usually given from the bride's family to the groom's family.
In the evening the groom's family goes to the 'Sehra Bundi'. This is where the groom gets a turban and crown upon his head. This ceremony is the start of the 'baraat,' which is the procession of the groom's family and friends to where the wedding will be held.
Once both families have arrived, the bride's family meets the groom's family at the entrance. Make the entrance as grand as possible by using some of the floral arrangements provided by Todich Floral Design. The groom is seated upon a throne-like chair and the bride enters with a garland of flowers. The bride and groom exchange garlands, which are provided by Todich Floral Designs. There is a special ceremony in which the bride and groom make offerings to a fire and walk around it seven times. After this, the couple is married. After the wedding, there is a 'doli,' which is when the bride goes with the groom to his home.
